I hate to be a downer so early in this but I am not seeing any real interest in this.
I have tried to email you Biggie to help anyway I can to get this going and send you a PM here with no reply to either. I am one of the guys actually ready to do this and willing to help if possible, let me know.

I haven't received your PM, and I racked down your email to an unrelated account... But needless to say, interest in the series is lacking. Racing, even with such a small budget still requires some effort. Effort is something most people try to avoid these days. When I requested people come here to post, most of the threads dried up as the topic became a real possibility. 99.9% of the local car enthusiasts couldn't actually care less about racing or cars for that matter...

I am still very interested. As soon as something is more concrete I will ramp up my car search and team building efforts.

Build it and they will come? It's probably too much of a risk for just a budget series but I could see people getting into it after a real race happens but that's quite a risk still. Utah, I am disappointed. If there still is interest, just to get numbers up, I will commit to building the celica for this and throwing a cage in.
Oh well, lemons it is.
Edit: Screw all that other stuff I said, I'll commit to this with the celica just to add another soul to the list. If it doesn't work I still have a caged celica for doing dumb things in.

I am very interested in this series, but I won't be able commit to anything until May at the earliest. And by commit, I mean not being able to buy a car or prepare one. Come May, and the prospect of a real job by then, I'll be able to plan out if I can be a part of this.
I'd like to see it happen. I've already looked over KSL a few times for a few ideas for cars. I want this to happen, so hopefully, some other people step up and help. I'll try spreading the word around, too.

As with others I am in but I need to work out the details, find a car and have the time to work on it.
In all probability I will be doing this as a "team" effort with my father. Part of the challenge for use will be finding a car that can be fun and fit both of us.
I would like to thank you for your time and effort on this project.
I understand how wishy washy people can be and have a suggestion.
Perhaps before organizing the first event you could have people pre register for their race school, and or first race entry fee. While this wouldn't be a significant enough amount that people wouldn't be willing to do it. It would probably be enough to keep them motivated. Just a thought.

I'd be willing to participate with a team. I have all of my personal safety gear so i'm already prepared. I also trust that the details will be worked out as the date nears.

What details are confusing you?

I am having a hard time rearranging my sundays for this. I would be in for spending a bit more money and dedicating all day on saturdays for this. I still want in, and will probably just have to show up when I can and let the rest of my team deal with the details. Even a mixed schedule would be good with some saturdays and some sundays.

I like the idea of doing some Saturdays and some sundays, it would make it more available for some people.

crazy this hasn't blown up yet, but the truth is i just barely heard about and i don't really know if the word is out to a lot of people yet. i have an old lemons car that is ready to go too and i am sure our team is in. i had a couple questions though. i am cool with the tire rule but would alloys be ok? if they're oem and smaller than 15X6.5? i can get'em at the junkyard cheap. Will we run transponders and most laps wins? a 200 dollar license seems high, i know the 24 lemons race is 50 bucks, will a scca license qualify? lastly, 20 min warm up, 20 qualify, and a 20 min heat with 10 or 15 minute break between each is almost 2 hours. how about a couple of parade laps and then the green flag for 4 hours? ive got a four man team and we are going to want to do driver changes. sorry for all the questions but i am pretty excited.

A set of steel wheels will be even cheaper from the same junkyard.

Yes we will be using an AMB transponder system. If you don't have your own, you will be able to rent them from the track for $25 a day. Transponders are not included in the "BUY rule".

The $200 is for a one day entry level competition school. You will receive 4 sessions on track, each lasting around 20 minutes. You will have an instructor and receive an informational booklet. Open track days at Miller usually range from $150~$300+ and don't include instruction, literature or the ability to receive an entry level competition license.
Also, an MPRA, SCCA, NASA or PCA competition license will be accepted.

We are doing sprint style racing. Each session is separated by an hour or two. You will get 2 sessions before lunch and two after. For this series to work we need several entries, not just a few entries consisting of several people.
If there is enough interest to do endurance race towards the end of the season we may add one to the schedule. To do a 24 hour race we would need triple the entries and 10X the entry fees. That doesn't included 48X the cost of brakes, fuel and tires.

i had thought it was maybe that steel wheels were required for a safety reason or it was a track requirement. i guess if we were all running the same car the availability and price would be easy to generalize but i cant get 6.5 steel wheels in my pattern and offset.
i'll stay posted and see what shakes out with your endurance concept. i think a 6 to 8 hour race would be perfect, there really isn't a need to go 24. a little higher entry cost will still be cheaper than building three more cars.

Without building 3 more cars there wont be any events! It seems simple enough, if you want to race there needs to be more entries. There aren't going to be enough entries to run a 30 minute race let alone an 8 hour event.
If there aren't 15 teams activity participating in this effort by the beginning of April, I'll have no choice other then to scrap this series.

Just the general rules since there is so much debate over them.
