Hello, this is Matt Loomis... I'm glad you posted up about this..... I was unsure what class I'm in..... but you already answered my question.  06 WRX, original WRX motor and tranny.... but VF39 turbo and STI intercooler... wasn't sure if that constituted an "STI swap" or not.... guess not.... that's cool.

Just curious... this is only my 2nd time at the track, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance... I have several questions.  I wrote you an email several days ago, but never heard back.

1.  Can I use the # 914?
2.  What happens if there are no more entries, or very few more?
3.  I read that transponders are available for rent, is that correct?  From where?
4.  What is the "show" time??
5.  Are cones going to be set up similar to the snowcross.... or is the track 100% open?
6.  I'm the guy that runs SLCSubaru.com..... can I make this a meet and bring spectators?

1. Sorry, we limit numbers to 2 digits
2. You would get a lot of wide open track
3. MMP registration booth
4. Registration is open from 7:00-8:30 am
5. No cones, multiple consecutive laps
6. MMP will more than likely be charging a spectator fee of around $5.

As far as spectators go its an insurance thing, so they require the fee.  We would love for you to influence members of your club to come out to the track to meet, greet, and participate.  Many of them may never have been to the track before so it can be a fun experience to just come support their local racers, and watch some great racing action!

I've been working on getting folks to come out to participate, but I think a lot of folks are shying away due to the price.  The economy is tough, you know?  Plus, I think the lack of participation is also contributing.  It's 11 days away and there are only 2 people signed up.

Truthfully, I'm a bit concerned myself.

I see the recent change to the original post, and my 3-digit number is no longer allowed.  Assuming I don't care what number I am, did I read somewhere that you provide numbers the day of the event?

I agree that times are tough, thats why we are the cheapest track time you can get at MMP.  We put this program together to help grow our racing community and we even lowered some of our prices for this year!

As far as numbers go we normally provide the numbers, but due to the same reasons competitors are having a hard time coming up with scratch, we are trying to find a way to do more affordable number panels.  We will most likely be providing numbers but they will be assigned by us for now.  We cannot afford to do custom numbers at this time.

Thank you for spreading the WORD!

^^^ Thanks!

I'm going to do another huge "push" to try and get folks to come out and support all the (hopefully) Subies.

.... and I "guess" we've got a couple mitsubishi fans among us.... for "whatever" reason Smiley

(yes, that was me egging on the apparently SCARED Mitsubishis... cause no one has registered yet)

 - Truthfully, I'd rather get stomped by a superior car/driver.... than win a trophy because no one else has entered.

I know a lot of folks are skeptical of entering, as they feel their brakes are not up to par for 20 minute lap sessions.  Understandable... I just upgraded mine as well to prepare for this event.  Even still, hopefully we can at least get quite a few spectators.  I'll do the best I can.  The spectator cost is only $5, right?

I'm in for the 2nd with my STI. and I am scared of EVOs as they tend to smoke me at every chance.

Matt, what about getting Chris Neria from MPRA to run and Paul from Solid? those are race-made EVOs who could put some hurt on just about anyone. Too bad the black/orange STI guy moved back east last fall. His STI was quick and he could drive.

^^^ I know for a FACT that they both know about it..... It wouldn't make much sense to beg them to enter, just to spank the Subaru crowd Smiley

Besides..... you have to run against them..... I don't... I'm in the WRX class Smiley

This has been a well-advertised event.... I'm really not sure why the participation level is so low.

"Hopefully" there are lots more entries, and the folks at MMP are just slow at updating the list???  I think some mitsubishi guys need to show up and redeem themselves.  At the last snowcross..... there were 2 EVO guys..... OH MY GOD... it was funny because everyone working in the corners got their cameras ready to see an accident (because they'd spun out so many times)

As of right now.... looks like I can just show up, pick up my trophy, and go have a celebratory beer and save the wear on my new tires--LOL

***Added 20 minutes later - You know what, I just realized that RSD is providing PRIZES for the lap battle winners.  Hmmmmmm.

Yah sorry guys we are working on it.  Its not a live update by any means.  Biggie will add the names to the list when he gets the registrations, and when we quit working on our secret project Mitsubishi starion  Grin No one said it had to be AWD...

Hey if I paid, could I come down to do some laps?  Not necessarily compete, but I would really enjoy just driving at MMP.

It's a honda FWD...  (since I see there is a hyundai and a datsun, could a honda play??? pretty please?)

There is an open track day at MMP on May 1st on the east course.

You'll need to do the T.O.R.D.E. session if you haven't already.
